In 2020, we’ll present our Festival over two weekends rather than three, with concerts on June 5, 6, 7 and June 12, 13, 14. To honor the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, we’ll bookend the Festival with two of his symphonies: the 1st, in C major, on Friday, June 5th and the glorious 9th, in D minor, on Sunday, June 14th.
Two talented instrumental ensembles will, in addition to performing concerts, offer companion workshops for interested participants: the quartet New World Recorders on Saturday, June 6th and Les Délices on Saturday, June 13th.
On Sunday, June 7th, we’ll present two intimate concerts at the Custom House Maritime Museum in New London. And on Friday, June 12th, Nickolai Sheikov will treat us to one of the most technically demanding works ever written for the harpsichord, J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
Check back with us frequently, as we’ll provide updates in the weeks to come. We look forward to seeing you in June 2020.
