Artistic Director Ian Watson conducts this Restoration Era (1664) entertainment featuring a cast of actors, singers and dancers. Scholar Laurence Senelick has written a script incorporating elements of Sir William Davenant’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, along with scenes from the Bard’s own version of the infamous “Scottish play.” Featuring incidental music by Henry Purcell, Matthew Locke and John Eccles.

Offered in collaboration with the Henry Purcell Society of Boston and Dan Meyers, a founding member of Seven Times Salt, specialists in 17th-century English music.

The play's first appearance in print in the First Folio of 1623.
